Your body has the ability to repair some damaged tissues using biological agents, including degenerative damage from aging. Stem cells, growth factors, platelets and other biological elements are used in both medical and cosmetic treatments to promote healing. For aging skin, introducing biological healing substances can help repair damaged cells. As part of our non-surgical treatments at Dallas Facial Plastic Surgery Center, we offer both PRP and stem cell facelift treatments at our facility in Irving, TX.

Stem cells are found throughout the body and can aid in the repair of damaged tissue. Stem cells are “blank” and can be used to create new tissue. When introduced to the facial skin through injections, stem cells can stimulate collagen production and increase volume in the skin. The stem cells can be harvested from fatty tissue. A small amount of liposuction is used to retrieve fatty tissue, and the stem cells are filtered out of the fat for use in the facelift treatment.

Stem cell facelifts can stimulate repair of aging skin. Over the following weeks after the treatment, the skin texture and tone may improve, fine lines and wrinkles may dissipate and improved skin elasticity may be noticed. Stem cell facial injections can be combined with other cosmetic treatments for optimal results.

PRP Facelift

Another option for a non-surgical facelift is PRP injections. Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is derived from your blood. A small sample of blood is taken from your vein and filtered through a centrifuge. The concentrated platelets and plasma are purified, and then injected into various areas of the face. The platelets and growth factors in the serum can help stimulate collagen production and healing of the skin cells.

Both PRP and stem cell facelift procedures have similar results. The biggest difference is that PRP facelifts are less invasive – fat does not need to be harvested, only blood. However, if you are having a liposuction procedure completed, you can benefit from combining a stem cell facelift with your lipo surgery.

You can enjoy a more youthful appearance with the help of biological elements harvested from your own body. To learn more about the benefits of PRP or stem cell facelifts, contact us at Dallas Facial Plastic Surgery Center in Irving, Texas, to schedule a stem cell facelift consultation.
