Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra+ Injections
Dermal fillers are one of the most requested cosmetic treatments due to their quick and effective results. One of the most popular and recognized dermal fillers is Juvéderm®. First approved as a hyaluronic acid dermal filler in 2006, Juvéderm offers several formulas of its specialized gel for cosmetic treatments. Dallas Facial Plastic Surgery Center is happy to offer Juvéderm Ultra™ and Ultra+™ injections, as well as many other hyaluronic acid treatments.
Juvéderm uses proprietary hyaluronic acid (HA) formulas that can add volume under the skin. The difference in the formulas is the size and flexibility of the particles in the HA gel – this can provide different results depending on the effects desired. Denser or larger particles can be more effective for plumping under deeper lines like nasolabial folds, while smaller, flexible particles are better for plumping the lips or surface lines.
Ultra and Ultra+ Formulas
Both Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra+ injections are approved for treatment of the nasolabial folds around the nose and mouth. The parenthesis creases that occur when you smile can become etched in the skin as you get older. Losing volume and collagen in the skin creates these lines, aging the face. Ultra and Ultra+ injections are used for moderate to severe nasolabial fold treatment.
The difference between the two similar formulas is that Ultra + is a little thicker, making it better designed for deeper lines and wrinkles. Juvéderm Ultra is slightly less thick, allowing it to be used for areas that need more flexibility, like in or near the lips.
Nasolabial Fold Treatment
If you want to smooth nasolabial folds or other wrinkles on the face, a dermal filler treatment like Juvéderm Ultra or Ultra+ injections may be right for you. The treatment takes less than a half hour and the results are almost instant. Most Juvéderm treatments last at least six months, sometimes longer, depending on the product.
You deserve to look and feel your best, which can include erasing lines and wrinkles on your face.
