Furrowed Brow Treatment
When you scrunch your eyebrows, lines appear on your forehead. The “11s” or frown lines between your eyebrows appear when you squint or have a grumpy expression, which can happen many times over the years. With time, these glabellar lines become etched in the skin, which can make you appear grumpy or upset even when you are feeling wonderful. One of the best non-surgical treatments to erase 11s from your face is with neuromodulator furrowed brow treatment.
At Dallas Facial Plastic Surgery Center, we can help you look more youthful and happier by erasing frown lines. Botox® was the first cosmetic injection to be FDA approved for furrowed brow treatment, and it is still one of the most requested treatments for frown lines. Jeuveau®, Dysport® and Xeomin® are other neuromodulators that can also reduce the appearance of frown lines – they are all derived from the botulinum toxin A and work in a similar manner.
Injections for Frown Lines
The good news about frown and worry lines on your brow is that they can be quickly smoothed away with cosmetic injections. A neuromodulator like Botox can be injected into the muscle that causes these lines to appear even when your face is relaxed. Multiple injections are used to relax the muscles causing your furrowed brow, and the procedure only takes about 15 minutes to complete. You can return to your normal activities after your treatment.
Botox and other neuromodulators take a few days to begin working. The neurotoxin in these products blocks nerve receptors to the targeted muscles, stopping contractions. The results wear off over time – usually in about 3-4 months. The injections can be repeated as needed to continue enjoying a more youthful and pleasant-appearing brow.
If you have the notorious “11s” between your eyebrows or horizontal worry lines on your forehead, there are non-surgical treatment options. Neuromodulators can relax the muscles that create these dynamic lines – facial fillers, skin tightening and CIT may also be helpful in rejuvenating the brow.
